Roasted Chestnuts

The most unique street food you’ll find in Istanbul is a roasted chestnut (or Kestane) – a sweet snack, similar to water caltrop or water chestnut (singhada in hindi) in texture with a nutty and sweet flavour. It is very healthy and filling.Roasted and served hot in a chilly winter evening.Vendors roast them, place them in small paper bags, weigh them, and offer them to you.Expect to pay about 4-5 Turkish Lira for about 100g.
